The Third Annual Mo Mahar Memorial Golf Tournament is Coming Saturday, June 6, 2026.
The last tournament was a very wet day, but the golfers wore rain gear and Mo Memorial swag. They were able to make the most of the challenging conditions and made the day even more successful than the previous year's. The tourney's earnings added over 15 scholarships for local students.
The Annual Awards Ceremony for 2026 will be Tuesday, May 12, 2026

The Willard "Bill" Johnson Memorial Scholarship
Created in memory of Willard "Bill" Johnson, a long-time Northampton High School business and math teacher, respected and beloved by students and faculty alike, this scholarship will be awarded to a student who intends to pursue a career as an Educator and who has demonstrated a commitment to help others by an involvement in community service.

The Greenfield Savings Bank Community Scholarship
Established by the Greenfield Savings Bank to award a student who intends to pursue further education in the financial services industry.

The Addis Family Scholarships
Two scholarships, created by Edwin Addis, who was born in Northampton and has lived most of his life in Florence. The donor had a career in engineering and is the parent of two other engineers, all three of whom were NHS graduates. The scholarships will be rewarded to graduating high school seniors who are planning to pursue a four-year degree in a technical major.

The Jon W. Western Memorial Scholarship
Beginning in 2026, The Jon W. Western Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a student who has demonstrated curiosity about the world through a broad and varied range of academic and other interests, and who intends to begin their postgraduate studies at a community college. Preference for students who have demonstrated a work ethic that may include part-time work, caring for younger siblings, or other responsibilities.
Jon attended a community college and then Macalester College before earning a Ph.D. from Columbia University and joining the faculty at Mt. Holyoke College.
As a professor of international relations and then dean of faculty, he was a passionate advocate for making college accessible to everyone who wants to attend, including students who work or have family responsibilities outside of school.
